DOA Bounces Online

DATE: -0/5-/2004
COMPANY: Tecmo
PRODUCT: DOA: Ultimate

Ever notice that when you mention a fighting game, say something like Dead or Alive, the person you?re talking to always claims to be the best? When you?re at the arcade it is easy to prove, or disprove, that person. However, arcades aren?t always on hand, so this is harder to do. Thanks to Tecmo, you?ll soon be able to fight for bragging rights online with Dead or Alive: Ultimate.

Announced at last year?s E3, Tecmo finally blew the lid off the first online 3D fighting game by not only showing off a sizzling new trailer, but also finally announcing a release date for the highly-anticipated fighter.

?Dead or Alive: Ultimate is one of our biggest titles for the remainder of 2004 and were very happy to be able to show a new trailer and reveal new details on the game to the press during E3,? John Inada, Tecmo?s General Manager said. ?With more stages and costumes than any other game in the fighting series as well as its worldwide online capabilities, Dead or Alive: Ultimate is the link to the future in fighting games.?

First released in 1997, the original Dead or Alive makes its first appearance in the North America complete with its original graphics and added online play. Also included in the compilation disc is DOA 2 Ultimate. Unlike DOA 1, DOA 2 has been completely redesigned. This includes a new fighting engine as well as graphics that will make you happy to own an Xbox. DOA 2: Ultimate will also include new outfits and arenas to unlock. For example, one section of the demo showcased the beach (and bikinis) from DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball. DOA 2 will also feature online play over Xbox Live.

The set will also include special collector?s edition packaging, complete with collectible cards showcasing all of the game?s fighters as well as listing their moves.

Dead or Alive: Ultimate is scheduled for release this September, only on the Xbox.
