It seems that Powergrid's slogan for the kiloWatt Pro pretty much says it all, "Play Longer, Get Stronger."
The kiloWatt Pro is one of those peripherals designed to help a gamer get a little exercise. That always gets extra points in my book, but a controller still has to work good. The Powergrid fitness kiloWatt Pro works exceptionally well. I tried out the model on the show floor and was surprised to see how accurate the control was.
There is a part that resembles a controller that is on the top of a stick connected to a floor piece. There is another 'seat'-like part that is also connected to this floor piece. Instead of moving a small analog stick to indicate the direction you want to go, you push the stick that the 'controller' is mounted on in the direction you want to go. The stick doesn't move much, but the pressure exerted is translated into an analog directional signal and is sent to the game.
I played with the kiloWatt Pro for just a short while, but could feel the effects in just that small amount of time. Effectively, playing with the kiloWatt Pro creates a similar feeling as doing sit-ups or crunches. Wanna get buff? Play more games...
