THQ Brings Familiar Faces And New Titles To E3

THQ is known for publishing a wide range of licensed games, this year is no different with over a dozen games from TV shows and movies, but that?s not all ? THQ also had several new names on the floor this year.

Drawing a large part of their licensed line from Nickelodeon, THQ is preparing to release All Grown Up (the series that follows the classic Rugrats in their early teen years), Fairly Odd Parents, The Adventure of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: Attack of the Twonkies, Nicktoons (working title) and the long awaited Spongebob the Movie.

Spongebob the Movie gives you control over the squishy character that has taken the world by storm as you guide him through the events of his first motion picture. You can also play as Patrick as you attempt to save Mr. Krabs and the rest of Bikini Bottom. There are 6 huge 3D worlds to go through as you use the Patty Wagon for a new driving experience, as well as earn manliness points in order to get new abilities and attacks.

Other familiar names include Banjo Pilot (a flying game from Nintendo?s N64 days), Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Challenge, Lego Knights Kingdom, and Power Rangers. THQ also has Punisher, Sonic Advance 3, Disney?s The Incredibles and WWE Day of Reckoning.

THQ?s line of new titles includes a video game rendition of the popular table top Warhammer 40,000 with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. This real-time strategy is a PC only game that takes place 10,000 years after the Golden age of Mankind has fallen, all hell has broken out and you will be able to control a vast army to claim land and resources. Warhammer 40,000 has both single-player and 2-8 multiplayer aspects to it.

Another name pushed at the THQ booth, was The Polar Express based off of the Warner Bros movie of the same name. This game takes you through eight chapters as you and your fellow train riders head north to meet Santa Clause. This action/adventure game will have you encountering many of the characters from the movie like Girl Know-it-All and Lonely Boy. Though this game is scheduled for release on the PC, GameCube, GameBoy Advance and PlayStation 2, only the PS2 version comes with special mini games to use with your EyeToy.
