Warner Brothers partnered up with many of their affiliates to bring movies and TV series to the interactive world with many games using the familiar characters we have come to know.
Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku takes the time-challenged fighter to the console world in this cel-shaded action packed game. Samurai Jack is a Cartoon Network creation of a samurai who seeks vengeance against the evil Aku who has thrown him thousands of years into the future. A dark future where the ancient wizard is the ruler of all. Jack seeks to be taken back to his time so that he can defeat Aku before this horrible future will come to pass.
Another cartoon making it to a video game is Mucha Lucha! Mysterioso Grande. This arena style combat game puts the little Latino wrestlers in your control with huge rings and plenty of throwable objects.
Constantine is a third-person action game where you will have a wide variety of weapons and spells at your disposal to battle the minions of hell. Constantine is based off of a DC/Vertigo Comics character from the series, Hellblazer. In this series, John Constantine works for the forces of heaven in order to eradicate world?s evil. Also in production is the major motion picture of the same name, starring Keanu Reeves. The movie is scheduled for release in February, while the game is expected to be finished by December. Constantine will be released for the PlayStation 2 and the XBox.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban takes the young wizard through his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this adventure, you find out that the person held responsible for leading the Dark Lord Voldemort to Potter?s parents has broken out of the wizard prison. Sirius Black, the escapee, is looking for Harry, and every time the young wizard turns around, he sees another omen of his impending doom.
But the biggest thing coming out of Warner Brothers this year (in conjunction with SEGA) is The Matrix Online. This MMORPG puts you into the Matrix like never before. The story of the online game takes place immediately after the trilogy. There are three major powers struggling for control of the Matrix: Zion, the Machines and the Merovingian.
As time progresses, plot lines developed by the movies? creators will unfold, revealing the future of the Matrix and what happens after the events of Matrix Revolutions. This game offers amazing martial arts based on ?wire-fu?, as well as dozens of weapons and Bullet Time effects based on the players' moves and tactics. This MMORPG will go online late this year.
