Novalogic?s Delta Force Blackhawk Down for the PC is now going to adorn an Xbox near you before the holiday rush this year. The intense, fast paced first person shooter based on America?s Special Forces operations in Somalia was such a hit on the PC that the company saw good profit in porting it to the Xbox.
And a good profit will most likely be made off of the good port that seems to be emerging. Little has been cut from the PC title to make it fit on the Xbox?s limited memory. In fact, the gameplay was left in tact, and only the graphics will suffer from the move. Even those are shaping up to look great. The preview we got had playable levels of wide open terrain, and in the words of The Who, I could see for miles.
The gameplay wasn?t totally left alone, however. More multiplayer maps are being added, and the least amount of players that will be able to fight it out on Xbox Live will be 8. There will also be added Cooperative modes as well, allowing 2 players to go split screen or on a LAN to tackle the single player missions.
Blackhawk Down is looking to be a very faithful port of the PC version. Fans of Tom Clancy games will definitely want to get their hands on this piece of work, as will anyone who has seen the game on the computer. Look for it before the end of the year.
