1C Is Greater Than The Sum Of Its Parts

1C is a small company in a small booth. But they pack a big punch. The sheer number of games may not impress every gamer, as the company?s quality is definitely not up to par with the likes of EA. But who is? And quantity has a quality all its own. With over twenty games being shown at this year?s E3, 1C demonstrated this quality, or quantity, well.

Sailing the high seas were the titles Swashbucklers, PT Boats, and Captain Blood. Swashbucklers and Captain Blood are set in, you guessed it, swashbuckling times and combine both sixteenth century naval combat and swashbuckling action. PT Boats has a more modern feel to it. Set during WWII, you can control any member of a PT boat in conflicts with Germans, Russians, or Americans.

Representing the sci-fi genre were titles like A.I.M., Parkan II, Space Rangers II: Dominators, Vivisector, StarRush, and StarWolves. All of these games were looking very sleek for the early versions we were shown. They covered genres from flight sim to first person shooter to strategy, giving the group great range.

As per popular rave, both world wars were captured in video games at 1C?s booth. Stalingrad and the aptly titled World War I are strategy games that focus mainly on troop squads that don?t get replenished, making the value of your irreplaceable soldiers all the higher.

Total war RTS?s made sure to be noticed this year as well. Desert Law sets you in a post apocalyptic era, and Cuban Missile Crisis could easily be the prequel. Ascension to the Throne and XIII Century take you back to the middle ages with elements of both real time strategy and global domination.

Speaking of the middle ages, a medieval Europe MMORPG, Sphere was adorning the 1C booth along with all the other great titles. This game will plant players in a hostile world where they must master the arts of warfare and band together to survive.

The rest of the games were a mixed bag in terms of genre. What looked to be the next generation of Road Rash was in fact Axle Rage, a game that takes everything great from the Road Rash titles and also incorporates third person action as well in a gritty, futuristic city environment.

Squad based combat, third person action, and even diesel truck driving were all represented as well. Whatever your poison, 1C had it at E3, and it should be on the market this year, if it?s not already, before the holidays.
