COMPANY: Microsoft/Rare
PRODUCT: Conker: Live And Reloaded

Known originally as Conker: Live and Uncut, Conker: Live and Reloaded is essentially a remake of the original Conker on the N64. However, the remake, which features a completely redone graphics engine and a few added elements to help freshen the game up, is only the bonus for the game's multiplayer experience.

Let's be honest here. Conker was a decent title that got most of its props due to its over-the-top antics and sophomoric humor. Many will disagree with me, but tough. In my mind, what really made Conker a worthwhile title were the multiplayer elements, more importantly, The Beach. Conker: Live and Reloaded takes the struggle between the squirrels and teddy bears a step farther.

Online action was fast-paced and a lot of fun. Environments are giant and feature something that most other online games lack, a storyline. While not particularly deep, these plots help to give players some purpose. In the mission I was able to take part in, I had to help my team of squirrels take over a series of power stations in order to shut down the shields protecting the teddy bear base.

Conker also takes multiplayer matches a step further by introducing various character classes, such as commandos, pilots and even a few ninjas. Each character type comes with its own special abilities, such as the pilot?s ability to requisition aircraft such as the transport/bomber which I used to bomb the hell out of everything on the thin walkway between my base and the first power plant. Yes, this made it difficult for my team to cross, but I was having fun, and that's what it's all about, right?

Other weapons of war, such as tanks and really, really big guns are also available during matches.

Look for Conker: Live and Reloaded later this year.
