Little Things Mean A Lot

DATE: -0/5-/2004
COMPANY: THQ
PRODUCT: Destroy All Humans

Although THQ had plenty of licensed games to show, there was also some pretty original stuff to be found in their booth as well. Take, for example, the game that struck me as the most unique offering at E3 and the one that most piqued my curiosity - Destroy All Humans.

This title, being developed by Pandemic Studios, is an action adventure that thrusts you into the shoes of Crypto, one pissed off alien. His brother was the unfortunate guest at Roswell, so he's on a mission to find out just what happened. On the way, he aims to collect the brain stems of all the humans, and thereby destroy them. During his journey, he is able to use mind control over humans, steal their thoughts and save them for later, use telekinesis, body snatch, zap people with his incinerator ray (plus plenty more weapons), and jump in his spaceship to wreak holy havok all over town.

Set in the idyllic timeframe of the 1950's, this one is the perfect choice for you fans of those classic sci-fi flicks such as War of the Worlds and the like. To add to the authenticity, actual songs from the 50's such as "Lollipop" are being used, as well as original background music written by the same guy who penned the music for classic sci-fi movies of the 50's.

This one already looks terrific, and it's still quite a long way from completion. I'll definitely be anxiously awaiting this game and you should too. It'll be out for the PlayStation 2 in the winter of 2004/2005.
