Xbox Soon To House POWs

DATE: 2002-06-02 18:20:42

With its June 2002 release date quickly approaching, Prisoner of War will soon give gamers their chance at performing the perfect escape from the most terrifying of circumstances. You control Captain Lewis Stone, who was shot down during WWII along with his co-pilot.

Being outnumbered and outgunned, Stone is taken to a German POW camp, and must figure out how to escape. The outstanding AI present in the game lets you interact with other inmates and German guards alike. Using your wits, you will have to stealthily peek around corners, distract guards, and shimmy through tunnels and over walls in order to make your escape.

Codemasters promises a high degree of replayability, as it will be possible to replay completed levels in an effort to decrease your escape time. Doing so will allow you to earn new abilities, which in turn helps you escape from the three fully-3D POW camps in the game.

Also available for PC (September 2002).
