One Game To Rule Them All...

Living up to the expectations of Lord of the Rings fans is a tough job, but EA is out to show it can live up to them. With the first movie already on DVD, and the second on its way to theaters later this year - EA was put in an odd situation. Release a game based on Fellowship of the Ring and be a year behind, or go ahead with The Two Towers and ignore the first part of the story? In a stroke of brilliance, the powers that be decided to combine both stories into one epic game.

Players will take control of Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli while other members of the fellowship take an active role in battles. While I have not seen any of the Fellowship areas, the part I played from Towers was incredible. Imagine a battle the scope of Dynasty Warriors 2 as you control Aragorn taking on hordes of orcs. As you battle these vile beasts, Legolas calls for help. You run to his aid, cutting down every orc in your way, stopping only to shoot arrows across the tower's ramparts at orcs besieging your allies. As you progress through the game's 16 levels, including the Mines of Moria and Helm's Deep, you will face all the denizens of Middle Earth and square off with bosses like the Cave Troll and Saruman.

Featuring music from the Academy Award winning score, the game will also include clips from the movie which seamlessly transition in each level - meaning players will get a sneak peak of the second film before it is released.

The Two Towers ships later this fall.
