Who Lives In A Pineapple Under The Sea...

DATE: 2002-06-05 11:42:59

While cruising through Bikini Bottom, Spongebob Squarepants discovers a series of treasure chests. Despite the warnings clearly saying to not open the chests, Spongebob opens them anyway ? unleashing the Flying Dutchman. Of course, the Dutchman is a bit peeved that he was disturbed, so he decides to cause all kinds of trouble for the residents of Bikini Bottom and make Spongebob and his friends part of this ghostly crew. Spongebob immediately seeks out the wisdom of Squidward (legend says that he once read a book about ghostly lore) to find out how to stop the Dutchman. Spongebob must now travel through seven levels, all which should be familiar to fans of the show, in order to collect the secret treasures that can stop the Dutchman.

The playable version of the game was very early, but remained close to the look and style of the show. THQ also plans to release a GBA version of the game, which will contain 11 levels, such as Bikini Bottom, The Goo Lagoon, and Dutchman?s Underworld.

By linking the GBA and GameCube versions of the game, players will be able to unlock mini-games unavailable in the normal game.

Both games ship later this year.
