Imagine a world where robots run around assisting people in their everyday tasks; at home, at work, while shopping... Sounds like a scene from a Star Wars movie, doesn't it? Well, a company named Evolution Robotics is hoping to change all that...

Enter the ER1, the first personal robot system for consumers. Retailing at around $600.00, the ER1 Personal Robot is being touted as the first 'easy-to-use' personal robot system that provides robust real world functionality. That's a mighty big claim, but from what I saw on the show floor, they might just deliver. The system includes a computer vision recognition system to allow for autonomous visual based navigation, resulting in much simpler progamming.

The ER1 will be sold through www.evolution.com, as well as through selected retail outlets and catalogs.

Stay tuned for follow-up information on Evolution Robotics' products...
