After months of speculation and internet rumors, the worst kept secret in the gaming industry was confirmed this year with Konami's Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for the Xbox. The exact details of the project are a closely guarded secret, but Konami did confirm that it will feature new VR missions and an all-new adventure in which players once again assume the role of Solid Snake as well as an upgraded version of the PS2 version.

Not to be outdone, Tecmo also announced two new games for Microsoft's big black box. The first is the long awaited return of Ninja Gaiden. Developed by Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden is a 3D version of the classic arcade and console game that will, according to Team Ninja members, feature graphics superior to those found in DOA3. The game will contain both fast-paced action as well as puzzle solving elements.

Tecmo also announced Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball. After winning big in Vegas, Zack purchases an island and invites the DOA girls to enter an extreme, no-holds-barred volleyball tournament. It's obvious that the main attraction is the scantily clan women, although Tecmo does assure players that it is a volleyball game and not an interactive version of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. With a tag line 'An extremely arousing experience', it's a safe bet that the game will sport a mature rating.
