Shinobi...Need I Say More?

Ahh, you can never go wrong with the classics. Riding on the popularity of remade retro games, SEGA is bringing back a true classic later this year in Shinobi. As with most remakes, I was a bit skeptical when I first heard of this game, and once again I was proven wrong. This game just oozes cool. Eschewing from the 'traditional' ninja game (you know, sneaking around and all that good stuff), Shinobi is full-on action and very reminiscent of Devil May Cry.

This game is all about fast paced action. Not only can he quickly slice n' dice enemies, but he can also 'teleport' via a ninja dash technique and walk on walls for a short time. One of the coolest features was the 'replay'. In order to get the feeling of 'ninja-fast' across to the player, enemies stand still before falling to the ground. Words can't begin to describe how cool it is to see a group of enemies fall to the ground all at once after introducing them to the business end of a katana.

Although the demo was short, it was extremely cool. Look for the original ninja bad-ass to return later this year on the PS2.
