D3 had lots of interesting stuff to show this year at E3. On the portable side, there was Break 'Em All for the DS and WTF for the PSP.

Do you remember Arkanoid? If you don't, you are missing out on one of the all-time greatest arcade action games ever. Basically, it's the Breakout of old, just with lots more action. Well, Break 'Em All takes what Arkanoid did and makes it even better with all newly styled levels and bright, colorful graphics. You'll use your touchpad and stylus to control the paddle. There's a rich single player mode with over 3 million (yes, I said 3 million!!!) randomly generated levels, so you'll never get bored of seeing the same thing twice, plus 2-8 friends can play wirelessly.

WTF stands for Work, Time, Fun. What were you thinking, huh? This PSP title has 40 mini-games to offer. You do odd jobs throughout the game to earn money, so that you can buy stuff in-game. Sure, it's not deep, but if you are sitting on a bus, it's the perfect time-killer for that commute. Very Japanese and very kooky.

Next up were the Naruto titles. Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 for the Game Cube is due out in September and touts that it is two times the gameplay of the origianal. There are 23 playable characters with a number of them being hidden or unlockable. 1-4 players can participate and with new moves, new arenas and promising 35 hours of gameplay, it looks like just the thing for fans of the original. Naruto: Ninja Council 2 is the GBA follow-up to the original and offers 3 playable characters with 1-4 being able to play. You are able to switch characters on the fly and each character has their own special attacks. You'll also be able to call 4-5 characters as back-up if you get in a sticky situation. Look for this one in Fall of 06.

D3 has obtained the license for the upcoming animated film Flushed Away, from Dreamworks/Aardman of Wallace and Grommit fame and is developing games on the PS2, DS, Game Cube and GBA to be released in conjunction with the movie. Based in London, the game (and movie) chronicles the adventures of Roddy, a rat who gets flushed from his uppercrust life down into the dank sewers of London. He teams up with the beautiful and street-wise thief Rita in an attempt to return to his rightful home. Along the way, they'll get into all manner of things as they battle Toad and his minions. Looks for lots of comedy as Roddy experiences his own Excalibur moment with a frilly toothpick in a discarded martini. This one is chock full of humor and platforming goodness, so fans of Aardman and platforming in general should definitely watch for this one.
