ATARI had several PSP titles at their booth this year. These games included everything from RPGs to vehicular comabat to platformers.

HOT PXL is a Wario-Ware-esque micro-game title with a rougher street-wise edge. This new PSP game is made up of more than 200 mini-games and all fitting the graffiti-cultured theme the game is based on. HOT PXL will also use the PSP's wireless internet access in order to retrieve new mini-games when ATARI provides them. Many of these micro-games will have players quickly going through classic ATARI titles, so long-time-gamers should definitely be on the lookout for this game.

Dungeons & Dragons Tactics takes the classic pen-and-paper RPG and brings it to the PSP in a tactics-style title. Using the D&D 3.5 rule set, Tactics allows players to take a party of six adventurers into a wide variety of dangerous environments to experience deep and exciting turn-based action. You play as a regular person caught between two feuding dragons. Throughout the game, you choose which of the two dragons you ally yourself with. You also have the ability to switch allegiances throughout the game as well, simply by selecting the opposing dragon's missions. Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics has many different classes including Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer and Wizard. Like HOT PXL, Tactics will also support downloadable content as well as using the Ad-Hoc connection for multiplayer co-op. Look for the new D&D title to come out this holiday season.

BattleZone is an arena-based vehicular combat game where you fly around in hover-tanks trying to take out your opponent(s) based on the classic 1980 game of the same name. Set in the distant future, players will be able to customize eight different team vehicles in hundreds of combinations. Using dozens of different combinations of weapons and armor, as well as the four-person multiplayer arenas, you and your friends could spend a lot of time seeing who has the best combination of parts and skills. Following the model of the company's other PSP titles, BattleZone will also support downloadable content, though the nature of that content has yet to be revealed, but it will probably consist of new arenas and new parts for your vehicles.

Another older title makes another appearance for the first time on the PSP. Earthworm Jim, the classic platformer, will have you using your amazing worm powers to jump or grapple across pits and take out enemies. Jim's quest to stop the evil queen continues while friends like Peter Puppy and Princess-What’s-Her-Name also make frequent appearances in the game.

ATARI's portable lineup consists of a wide variety of games, and each one shows a lot of promise in being an enjoyable experience that you can bring anywhere. Look forward to seeing these games come out throughout the 2006-2007 gaming year.
