Playseat was at E3 last year showing off some different seating rigs for racing simulations and flight simulations - different price level entries for enthusiasts with different levels of demand and income. This year, however, their most unique product shown was the MediaSeat - a wide, comfortable chair that was designed and developed in Norway as a multi-media chair targeted not at die-hard simulation enthusiasts, but rather at the whole family - intended for use in any "living room, basement or hotel lobby", as their products catalog puts it.

The MediaSeat features a 50W or 150W shaker system built into the chair. The MediaSeat provides a comfortable seat and great experience for gaming or watching movies, making it perfect for use in a living room, where space is limited and can't be dedicated to gaming or in a home theater, where style, comfortable seating and accurate feeling base is of high importance.

The MediaSeat can recline backwards, to allow for more comfortable gameplay or movie watching, and can fold forward to minimize the chair's size into that of a uniform rectangular shape that can be used as an ottoman (or pouf, as the product catalog describes it). Each wide armrest can be opened to reveal a generously proportioned storage area, perfect for storing controllers, keyboards, remotes and perhaps even games. The MediaSeat is compatible with any device that uses standard audio out, such as Home Theatre, DVD, VCR, TV, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, MP3 players, etc.
