Time to give you a double helping with two new titles coming out from Electronic Arts.
Crytek, the developers of Far Cry, are coming out with a new first person shooter for the PC called Crysis. The setup for the story is an interesting one. When an asteroid containing an alien ship crashes into an island chain, the U.S. and Korean governments must join forces to protect themselves from the onslaught. Crysis will feature gameplay that requires players to change weapons and armor in real time to respond to ever-changing threats. A.I. units, both alien and friendly, will use real military tactics when organizing their movements. Even natural disasters, such as earthquakes, will challenge players.
You know who doesn’t find earthquakes so challenging? Superman, that’s who. What would EA be without high-profile movie tie-ins, and Superman Returns is just their bag. The game will offer completely open-ended, non-linear gameplay centered in the huge city of Metropolis. The game will offer missions based on the film, as well as wholly original content. The game will be released on three platforms: PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. EA assures us the game will be “True to the fiction in every respect.” We’ll see. After all, nerds are his biggest fans of all. |
