One of the games that seemed to be the subject of a lot of buzz at E3 2007 was Guitar Hero III. The series now has two successful games under its belt and has attracted the attention of musical artists who are gamers themselves.

There will be several famous artists with music in Guitar Hero III; as the developers put it, "they've been coming to us." Artists will include Glowing Stones, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Guns and Roses, Living Colour, Heart and Muse, to name but a few. Guitar Hero III includes songs such as: Cult of Personality, Barracuda, Welcome to the Jungle and Knights of Cydonia.

Slash was actually present at the Activision Press Conference, to talk about Guitar Hero III. Slash is portrayed in-game, as a boss character. He explained that he has a bit of an addictive personality and and become completely addicted to playing the Guitar Hero games in his tour bus between shows and that he was anxious to work with Activision to put his music and his likeness into the game. In fact, he wrote a brand new track just for the game. If you beat Slash as a boss, then he joins you on tour. How sweet is that!

One cool new feature in Guitar Hero III is the Versus mode where you can actually attack your opponent with attacks, such as "Broken string," that mess up your opponent's guitar, requiring them to quickly mash some button or the whammy bar to "fix" their guitar while still playing the rest of the regularly scheduled song.

Guitar Hero III will feature a Gibson Les Paul-styled wireless completely wireless guitar controller in the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 versions and a Gibson Kramer-styled controller for the PS2 version. Cool face plates to customize your guitar are also in the works, although the exact designs are as yet undetermined. But the possible ones they were showing were very cool indeed.
