D3 Swaps Things Around
Product: Dead Head Fred
Company: D3

Avaliable On:

Dead Head Fred takes PSP players on a strange journey through an alternate 1940’s where poor detective Fred Neuman has lost his head over the Mob, literally! Brutally murdered, then resurrected via a bizarre science experiment, yet without the conveniences of his head or his memory, Fred must fight his way through hordes of enemies to find out who killed him and extract his revenge.

What’s unique about Dead Head Fred is the fact that he acquires the heads of his enemies as he kills them. No, its not just a sick collection, because he will have 9 different play mechanics offered by swapping out the heads. One head can fill up with air and allow Freed to float to areas that would otherwise be unreachable. Another might fill with water and can be used to put out a fire. You’ll need to gather and swap heads to progress through the game as certain areas will be impassable without certain heads.

D3 is calling Dead Head Fred twisted noir and twisted it is. You can embark on missions that will earn you money for upgrading your heads and purchasing new ones. There will be 12 themed environments to traverse, along with bonus content in the form of mini-games and activities such as Dirty Pool and Pinball. Unique ways of dispatching your enemies include shooting them with poison darts, irradiating them, slicing and dicing them and severing the heads off with your bare hands. Needless to say, this one is not for the kiddies and fully earns its Mature rating for blood and gore. Oh, and I did mention that the main character is voiced by none other than the utterly snarky John C. McGinley, better known as Dr. Perry Cox on Scrubs. No wonder they took his head off.

Look for Dead Head Fred to hit stores at the end of August.
