Here's a little something that music lovers on the go are going to be happy to see. Ubisoft's Jam Sessions for the Nintendo DS is not a game, but sort of a musical toy. You may want to think of it more as a guitar you can fit in your pocket, tho.

This ingenious little piece of software displays 8 different chords of your choosing on the top screen of the DS, indicating which direction you would hold your D-pad to select each one. The bottom screen (the touch screen) has a line that goes horizontally across it. This line is your string. Hold down on the D-pad to select your chord of choice, then strum across the "string" to make your own music. You simply use your stylus as a guitar pick. In fact, I didn't have a chance to try it out at E3, but I'm betting you could use a guitar pick instead of a stylus, if you were so motivated.

Jam Sessions can sound like your choice of an electric or an acoustic guitar, and you can step all of your preset chords up or down one half step at at time with the action buttons.

That's not enough for you? Okay, fine... you can also flip into a mode that lets you use the built-in DS microphone to sing along and then, if you rock, you can record, perform and play back your music. If you have dreams of becoming a rock star or you just think of new songs when you can't get to an instrument, Jam Sessions is here for you.
