Konami is releasing two titles in the upcoming year that are continuations of some of their longer-living licenses.

Contra 4 takes you back to the classic shooter style of gameplay where mercenaries Bill Rizer and Lance Bean have finally stopped the alien invasion seen in Contra III: Alien Wars and now face a new threat. This game is Contra, from the classic look and feel to the difficulty. The difference is the system. On the Nintendo DS, enemies aren't constrained to a single screen in order to attack you. On top of that, there are times when you will have to use the new grappling hook in order to get to the upper screen and over some unscalable walls. Playing this game at Konami's room really brought back some memories for the more classic and harder games of yester-year. Contra 4 is scheduled to be released by Holiday 2007.

Also coming out by the end of the year is Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is the line's first venture onto the PSP and what better way than to also bring over a game that has never actually left Japan. Dracula X Chronicles is an updated (visually at least) version of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. As an added boost, the UMD contains both the original version (unlockable, of course) as well as the ever-classic Symphony of the Night. Yup that's right, you get three Castlevania games for the price of one!
