WWII is a popular setting for games – so much so that it seems like a new WWII game is releasing every other week. Not one to follow the crowd, 1C is working on two games that, while they do feature the words “World” and “War,” neither have a "II".

In Necrovision, you play as a Russian soldier trapped behind enemy lines during World War I. Of course, this isn’t the WWI that only your history teacher remembers, but an alternate reality one where zombies and demons crop up on the battlefield as much as those silly spike-pointed German helmets.

With the alternate version of the war comes more exaggerated gameplay. Gameplay will still feature many WWI set pieces like trenches and barbed wire; however a majority of the game’s environments will take on a more twisted appearance. The focus in Necrovision is on fast-paced combat with lots of enemies. Your weapons will be equally over-exaggerated, as will the damage they produce and their effects they have on enemies (i.e. body parts flying everywhere).

While Necrovision will take gamers to WWI, Death Track: Resurrection will take them to post WWIII.

Death Track is primarily a racing game; only guns are just as much of a customization option as a new transmission or spoiler. The goal is to win races, though you can also earn bonus points by pulling off stunts. These points can later be used to purchase weapon upgrades for your car.

Both games aren’t scheduled for release until later next year.
