At E3 we got a sneak peek of two upcoming Lego titles--both under the moniker of Lego Bionicle. Although they are both set in the same gameworld, they are different in most other respects. One is for the Gameboy Advance; the other is for the PC.
The differences go beyond that, though. The Gameboy Advance is the first game in chronological order. It details the exploits of the villagers on the island of Mata Nui, preparing for the arrival of the Toa, godlike beings who are going to (you guessed it) save the world--or at least the island. There aren't many details about the GBA game yet, other than that it will also have a number of multiplayer mini-games built in, and that it ends where the computer game starts--the arrival of the Toa.
The computer game, on the other hand, is a 3D adventure game where you get to control the six Toa as they attempt to get Masks of Power so that they can defeat the evil on the island. Each level will be geared towards a specific Toa, and each Toa has different abilities, gaining more as they collect the Masks of Power. I talked to one of the developers at E3, and they said the game is going to be huge. The part that I saw was nice-looking, impossible jump aside. Both titles are planned for release in September 2001--look for more coverage here.
