Warner Brothers had a Batmobile on display as a bit of scenery for their upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game. It was behind velvet ropes for its protection, which made sense with so many people tromping around it. It also had a security guard assigned to it, to keep people from touching it or knocking over the velvet rope. I talked with him a bit, and found that he was actually quite knowledgeable about the car.
First of all, this is an actual movie prop from Batman Returns, as can be seen here at BatmobileHistory.com. Also, this car is (still) drivable, and has a fiberglass body. Finally, he was telling me that Warner Brothers is preparing to open an exhibit at Warner Brothers Studios in the Los Angeles area, that will feature a full selection of Batmobiles from previous projects. Sounds like something I'm going to want to check out, perhaps around next E3.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures of this piece of automotive and movie history. It was hard to get pictures without the rope in the way, but it's amazing what one can do with Photoshop and a little help from one's friends. |
