Majesco is launching a new line of kid-friendly DS games focusing on the age-old question, “What do you want to be when you grow up.”

There are three games coming out that follow up on the standard answers to this questions, Firefighter, Astronaut and Doctor. Firefighter and Astronaut will be out this August, but Doctor isn't slated to come out until December.

Unfortunately, the only game that was available at E3 was My Hero Firefighter, and based on what I saw, the line of games could be quite an enjoyable collection for the younger gamers out there.

From the moment I got the call and left the firehouse, I was in control of the game's firefighters. The first thing I had to do was drive the truck to the site. With the DS' D-Pad, I put on as much speed as I could, but whenever a turn came up, I had to use the stylus to trace the turn and effectively guide the truck to the new street. If I didn't quite do the turn right, then the fire engine would stall a bit, wasting precious seconds before I got to the scene of the fire. Otherwise, a smooth transition to the new street gave me a bit of a boost.

At the fire, you then control a firefighter as he treks through the area looking for people to save, obstacles to destroy with his fire ax (with the stylus, of course), and once you get to the actual flames, the touchscreen gives you control of a fire hose in an attempt to put it out.

Parents with growing little ones might want to keep their eyes on this new line since it is bound to be a series of nice, family-friendly games.
