What do you do when you are one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and you have been tricked into starting the End of Days? Well, you take revenge and clear your name, of course, and that's what Darksiders is all about.

This Action RPG feels like a much darker Zelda game, complete with needing to retrieve a horse so you can ride across the vast landscapes to get from dungeon to dungeon. The enemies you will face range from the re-animated corpses strewn about the land to massive bosses like giant bats and rock goliaths. And with each death dealt by War, souls will be released and your character's experience will increase. As you progress through the game, you will not only be able to upgrade the horseman's massive sword, but also unlock new weapons to support his devastating combos and even gain some of his original power back (which was taken from him when he was found guilty for starting Armageddon).

While the E3 demo focused primarily on the game's fighting and hack-n-slash feel, there is also a good bit of exploration and puzzle-solving to be had in Darksiders. Early looks at the game made it appear to be in the same style as God of War, but since the demo that was playable at last year's PAX, the comparisons to games like Zelda have become more prominent. So gamers out there who were looking for something to mindlessly take down enemies in might have to look somewhere else, but those of you looking forward to a Mature-rated Zelda-like game, Darksiders might be what you are waiting for.
