If You Can't Beat 'em, Radium

DreamGEAR was showing off their new Radium line of PS3 controllers at E3, which come in different versions, to balance cost with features.

The DreamGEAR Radium Wireless with SIXAXIS Compatibility is their top-end controller, featuring full SIXAXIS compatibility, to allow gamers to control their games by moving the Radium controller along six different axes. It also features dual rumble motors powered by Immersion Rumble Technology to give physical feedback to certain events in games, such as shooting a weapon or smashing into an object. The Radium Wireless with SIXAXIS Compatibility also features a turbo feature, allowing gamers to pull off rapid-fire attacks by simply holding the fire button down. The wireless system used is a 2.4 GHz technology, to provide latency-free gaming. The DreamGEAR Radium Wireless with SIXAXIS Compatibility will retail for $39.99 USD.

The step-down from here features most of the same functionality as the high-end version; the Radium Wireless Controller is simply missing the SIXAXIS compatible motion-sensing technology. You still get the dual rumble motors, the turbo feature and the 2.4 GHz wireless system. The removal of the SIXAXIS compatibility drops the price to $29.99 USD. If you don't use motion control in the games that support it or if you are picking up some extra controllers and you already have a perfectly fine controller that supports SIXAXIS motion sensing, this might be a good option for you.

DreamGEAR's entry-level Radium controller is the Radium Hard Wired controller, which lowers the price a little more to a mere $24.99 USD. Other than the replacement of a six foot wire instead of wireless, the Radium Hard Wired has identical features to the Radium Wireless Controller.

All of the above are available in a variety of colors (metallic blue, metallic red, silver and black), all feature the same comfortable ergonomic design, and include the turbo function and the Immersion Rumble Technology. The multiple colors offer a bit of customization to gamers and the multiple versions allow gamers to pay for just the features they really want.
