A Two-Headed 'Tooth For Your Ear

Share:

One of the devices that was being shown at Turtle Beach's booth - but only inside of a display case - was the upcoming Ear Force PBT PS3 Bluetooth Communicator. The Ear Force PBT will allow you to wirelessly chat over PSN when gaming online. However, unlike other PS3 Bluetooth ear-piece headsets, the PBT is capable of simultaneously pairing with your mobile phone, as well.

This dual-pairing ability lets you instantly switch to an incoming phone call while still playing your online game by simply pressing a button on the device itself. When your call has completed, another press and you're back talking with your friends again.

If you already own Ear Force X32 or X41 headsets, you get an added benefit; the Ear Force PBT features a 2.5mm microphone jack that lets you use the wireless X32 or X41 headsets on the PS3.

The Ear Force PBT features a very simplified control design. There is but a single button for, well, all functionalities. Pretty much regardless of what you're trying to accomplish, the button to push is the PBT's Multi-Function Button (MFB). This one button is used to power the PBT on or off, to answer or hang up a call, and to put the PBT into search mode when registering a Bluetooth device.

Since the PBT can be used alone or in conjunction with the X32 or X41 headsets, there are two different removable clips for the device. One is an ear clip that can be used with either ear and simply fits over the ear to keep the PBT up to your ear, while the other is a clothing clip, which can be used to clip the Ear Force PBT to your shirt pocket or other location where the button will be within convenient reach.

The Ear Force PBT is coming soon and will retail for $49.95.
