Nintedo 3DS Flies Too Close To The Sun

Fans begged for it. Nintendo ignored them. Fans cried for it. Nintendo looked the other way. Fans screamed for it after Smash Bros. Brawl and now Nintendo finally listens. A new Kid Icarus game is finally going to happen and it is coming to the 3DS!

For twenty years, there has been zero activity from the Kid Icarus hero, Pit and crew (unless you count the awesomely 80’s cartoon show, “Captain N.”) Finally, Pit emerges from the heavens for an all new adventure fit for the handhelds and it is being developed by legendary game designer, Masahiro Sakurai (Kirby, Smash Bros.) for a new generation of gamers.

The series angel, Pit, teams up with Palutena, the goddess of light, to battle against the Queen of Darkness, Medusa. Palutena can grant Pit the power of flight, but only in five minute stretches before his wings burn up (it’s called Icarus for a reason) and he has to battle Medusa’s troops on the ground.

The two-minute trailer available on Nintendo’s website shows Pit shooting down gangs of enemies in the sky and battling huge screen-filling bosses to save his city. This bright and colorful adventure looks like it could be a fantastic addition to the franchise and Zelda fans in particular should keep an eye out for Kid Icarus: Uprising when it launches alongside the Nintendo 3DS.
