I'll Take "Swords" for 500, Alex

Majesco Entertainment showed off a fun sword-based fighting game at this year’s E3, and with the use of the Wii’s Motion Plus 1:1 sensor, it becomes one of the most exact fighters to come to the system yet.

Swords doesn’t have too deep of a story behind it, but what it has will get the job done, at least for a fighter. Basically, the Story Mode has you being sent off to participate in a sword-fighting tournament taking place outside of both time and space. Once there, you will pit your slashing-skills against eight different enemies. These include a Viking chieftain, an alien from the future, Sir Lancelot and a lady by the name of Keiko Anamura.

Players start off in a dojo setting where you get a handle on the Wii controls and learn the how to block and strike, but it isn’t long before you will be sent into the tournament and have to work your way through the ranks until you reach the final boss. As you climb the ranks of the tournament, you will also unlock new swords, which is not only great for your single-player fights, but also very effective when you take your skills online.

Swords is definitely geared towards a younger audience as its violence is over-the-top and almost cartoonish without showing any actual blood. Because of that, it also has the potential to appeal to a wider, more casual gaming audience, so those of you who like swashbuckling with their Wii should keep an eye out for this game when it launches this September.
