Destiny Primed for a Stellar E3 Showing

While it’s hard to deny that some of the best moments of the Electronic Entertainment Expo come from announcements of brand new titles, it’s equally hard to deny the excitement in the air when an otherwise mysterious piece of software starts to slowly demystify itself. This will undoubtedly be the case with Activision and Bungie’s highly-anticipated "Shared World Shooter," Destiny.

As of this writing, gameplay specifics are still something of a series of question marks, but the concept is easy to get behind: as a Guardian of the last city on Earth, you come into a wealth of incredible power and find yourself in a situation that any explorer worth his/her salt would salivate over. What would you say to the prospect of becoming an interstellar adventurer charged with exploring the ruins littering our very solar system? There is a correct answer, and it is "Hell, yes."

Of course, getting there is only part of the adventure. You see, mankind is on the ropes; we’ve been driven to them. So again, how would you like to take vengeance for your humanity while claiming the spoils of your interstellar expedition? Again, the answer is "Hell, yes."

Later this week, PS4 owners will have the chance to play Destiny's First Look Alpha beginning Thursday, June 12th, at 12:00pm PDT, and ending on Sunday, June 15, at 11:59pm PDT.
