Two-for-One Portable MMORPG!

BANDAI NAMCO Games America just announced Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, a PS Vita exclusive game releasing this Summer that takes the world of the Sword Art Online found in the light novel, manga and anime and transforms it into an MMORPG that you can take on the go. Plus, they throw in Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, the original PSP game released only in Japan, but with updated graphics.

In the virtual reality game worlds of Sword Art Online, called Aincrad, players find themselves trapped in the VR worlds by the game's creator. Worse yet, dying in the game means dying in real life, so they have to escape. You play the game as Kirito, who is exploring a new area called "Hollow Area" with his companions and will fight floor after floor of enemies in the hopes of escape.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment re-introduces the infamous Player Killing guild called, ominously enough, the "Laughing Coffin," who were thought to be previously wiped out. Apparently their leader, a red player called PoH, has still been pulling some strings in the background and lays in wait in the Hollow Area. Kirito will meet other players along the way, such as Philia, a girl with a mysterious past, and Strea, a worthy fighter and companion, but her past guild associations are unknown, so can she be trusted?

As the player progresses through the game, they'll meet numerous characters and even if they are playing the Single Player Mode, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will have a true MMORPG feel to it as you can pop into First Person view at any time to explore the world, plus the NPC's will react as if they are actual MMO players. So whether you play in the 4-player mode on Ad Hoc or by yourself and on the go, you can still get that MMORPG experience in the palm of your hand. Look for Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment coming soon as it releases Summer 2014!
