Taking the Z out of Dragon Ball Z

Bandai Namco has just announced a new game putting Dragon Ball onto the Xbox One and PS4.

While not much information has really been released on Dragon Ball: Xenoverse, what we have claims that it will create a truly original gaming experience for the series, which will be interesting considering how many games have been put out under this license and that its seen everything from top-down RPGs, to side-scrolling platformers to, of course, every kind of fighter you could imagine.

The announcement states that it will contain all of the epic battles between Goku and his enemies including Vegeta, Frieza, Cell and Buu, but it also boasts that a new character is going to be featured, along with a mysterious city. The teaser trailer shows the new fighter from behind, but we don’t see much besides a Capsule Corps jacket that looks a lot like the one Trunks wears.

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse is being developed by Dimps, the team behind the original Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series and will also come out for the PS3 and Xbox 360. There isn’t a release date yet, but we should hear much more about the game in the coming months.
