Limited Run Persona Q Premium Edition Announced

Persona Q: Shadow of Labyrinth is the first Persona game to hit the 3DS, and to celebrate, Atlus has announced a special "Wild Cards" Premium Edition of the game, featuring a number of extras for fans looking for the complete Persona experience.

The collector’s edition, which retails for $79.99, comes with a set of Tarot Cards used as evokers in Persona 4, as well as a soundtrack CD, Art Booklet, and a special Persona Q-themed hard case for the 3DS. These special edition items will only come with the Premium Edition of the game, which Atlus says will be a very limited supply. As a result, Atlus is encouraging people to get their pre-orders in by mid-July to ensure their copy, since there are no plans to re-manufacture any more Premium Editions once the initial set of units is gone.

Persona Q: Shadow of Labyrinth is a dungeon crawler in the vein of the Etrian Odyssey series, featuring a cast of characters culled from both Persona 3 and Persona 4. The game takes place in Inaba during the "Yasogami Culture Festival." According to legend, a clock tower will appear once a bell sounds. All who hear the bell will die, or at least that’s the rumor. The bell tolls, trapping the characters in Yasogami High School, which has transformed into a labyrinth filled with monsters called "shadows."

Similar to the Etrian Odyssey series, exploration takes place in first-person view with turn-based combat. Players can build their own team of five from the twenty available characters, offering new dialogue choices based on who is in their party. Persona Q will also include the F.O.E. system, challenging mini-bosses that wander certain dungeons. Some will only attack after you meet certain criteria, while others will chase you down.

Persona Q: Shadow of Labyrinth is set for release this Fall. For now, check out the goodies that come with the Premium Edition, along with the screens and trailer.
