Rock Band: The Queen Pack
Score: 87%
Publisher: EA Games
Developer: Harmonix
Media: Download/1
Players: 2 - 4 (Co-Op/Online)
Genre: Rhythm/Party/Online

Graphics & Sound:

Since Rock Band: The Queen Pack is a DLC pack for Rock Band or Rock Band 2, you pretty much know what to expect in the way of graphics. Unlike The Beatles: Rock Band, where the backgrounds change according to what song is being played, in The Queen Pack, you are still using the existing venues and characters that you've either chosen or created.

The music is really what you care about anyway, right? Rock Band: The Queen Pack, when listed on the XBOX Live Marketplace website, is listed as "01" so I am guessing there will be more songs to come. What's here is fairly solid, although I sorely missed "You're My Best Friend" since it wasn't included. What was included are some of Queen's most well known tunes, plus at least one that I honestly have never heard, although it rocked pretty hard.

The pack includes "Another One Bites the Dust," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Fat Bottomed Girls," "I Want It All," "I Want to Break Free," "Killer Queen," "One Vision," "Somebody to Love," "Tie Your Mother Down," and "Under Pressure." "I Want It All" was the one I had never heard, and except for "One Vision," the rest of the songs are standards for Queen fans. There are some obvious omissions, but again, this looks to be the first of at least 2 download packs, so I am sure they are coming. What's here is good and although when I think Rock Band, I don't automatically think Queen's music, the song selections fit well enough.

Value:

The value of Rock Band: The Queen Pack is completely relative to your love of Queen's music. It costs 1280 MS Points, but you can also purchase the same songs individually for 160 Points, if you don't like the collection as a whole. If you don't already have SingStar: Queen or you want to be able to have Queen's songs in your existing Rock Band or Rock Band 2 library, then you should definitely pick this album up. If you aren't a fan of Queen already, this song pack probably won't make you one.
