Mouse
Score: 93%
Developer: Mad Catz

Function:
Excellent -- The action is fairly tight, not requiring a large mouse pad. In fact, the Mad Catz Mouse comes with a mouse pad about the size of a PSX CD case with the Mad Catz logo on it.

Performance:
The shape of the Mad Catz Mouse is nicely ergo-dynamic, without being absurd looking. It simply fits the hand nicely, allowing a long-lasting game to be played comfortably. However, all of the positioning rules that apply to PC mouse use also apply here. If you position yourself at a poor, uncomfortable angle, extended periods of gameplay could become painful to your hand, wrist, or arm.

If you?re reading this (on a computer), you?re probably very familiar with using a computer mouse. Same thing here. In fact, for games that are mouse compatible, it may be much easier for a PC user who is unfamiliar with the (rather complex) PlayStation Controller.

Features:
  • Well-designed simple ergo-dynamics
  • Simplicity of control -- directions and left and right buttons
  • Includes small (yet adequate) mouse pad
  • Seven- foot cord

Drawbacks & Problems:
The same positioning rules that apply to PC mouse use also apply here. If you position yourself at a poor, uncomfortable angle, extended periods of gameplay could become painful to your hand, wrist, or arm. However, for those gamers who are well versed with a mouse, and are self aware of correct posture and angles of using a mouse, the Mad Catz Mouse may be a great choice for those games that support it. And, if you?re going to use a mouse, this is a mighty good mouse to use.
