Light Shield Advance
Score: 95%
Developer: Pelican Accessories

Function:

One of the biggest problems facing GBA owners is finding a good light source to see the screen. The Light Shield Advance is Pelican's answer to this problem, and it does on hell of a job at it. Of the lights I've tried, this one seems to be the best so far. Unlike other lights, this one doesn't give off too much of a glare and illuminates the entire screen. Also, when it's not in use, it folds down over the screen for ease of travel and to protect your screen from scratches.

Performance:

The Light Shield Advance is a sturdy little piece of plastic. Not that it will be about to withstand a blow from a hammer or anything, but it's sturdy enough that it you won't have to be super careful handling it. The hinges that hold the shield to the back base are very tight so you won't have to worry about it swinging open. The connection is also a good tight fit so it won't fall out on you either.

On the back of the base, there is a dial which allows you to adjust the light level of the lamp, so while finding the exact adjustment can take a little time, it is really easy to do. Also, for anyone wondering about how much this light drains from your batteries, it's minor.

Features:
  • Folds down to protect the GBA screen
  • Link cable pass-through
  • Adjustable light level
  • Comes in three colors to match your GBA
  • Minimal battery drain

Drawbacks & Problems::

The only drawback I could find was the glare. While it's not as bad some other lights, it still gets distracting.
