Skylanders: Swap Force - Ninja Stealth Elf is not only a nice repose of a classic Skylanders character, but the Swap Force game also adds a second Wow Pow ability to make this sneaky character even more powerful.

Ninja Stealth Elf starts off with her basic Blade Slash and Decoy abilities. The first is, of course, her fast melee attack and the other lets Stealth Elf disappear and leave a decoy version of herself to attract the attention of enemies. The basic decoy is a ghost image of herself that keeps on running in the direction she was moving. The cheapest upgrade Ninja Stealth Elf has puts a scarecrow in place of the decoy and stands still so that it can take damage. The next upgrade for this ability lets the scarecrow take more damage before being destroyed. The other two upgrades before choosing a path includes an increase in her blade’s damage and the ability to perform fast dodge moves.

Ninja Stealth Elf’s upgrade paths will either increase her blade or her stealth skills. The melee attack branch allows her to either release poison spores or an impressively powerful melee attack based on the attack combo you use. The next upgrade in this line makes your blades deal even more damage, while the last summons blades to float around Ninja Stealth Elf and attack enemies around you. This is very similar to the Ghost Pirate Swords magic item.

The scarecrow upgrade path starts by placing three decoys on the field instead of just one. This is followed up by those scarecrows exploding and doling out some damage of their own when they are finally taken down, while the last gives them some weapons of their own and increases the damage they inflict.

Ninja Stealth Elf’s Soul Gem can be found in the Spyro’s Adventure level Falling Forest, but does not need to be found in either the Giants or Swap Force games - it just needs to be bought. This Soul Gem lets Ninja Stealth Elf regenerate health over time. There are two Wow Pow abilities for this character: the first releases a huge blade attack that swings all around Stealth Elf, while the other summons a tiger to fight alongside. This ability also changes her costume to a black Ninja suit to make the in-game character match the Ninja Stealth Elf figure.

Comments:

Skylanders: Swap Force - Ninja Stealth Elf is a great, easy-to-use character that is both fast and can deal a lot of damage. Her decoy abilities mean that a strategic player can not only get out of some tight jams, but also lay down the groundwork for some massive attacks. Of course, one of the biggest benefits to Ninja Stealth Elf’s decoy ability is that you can use it against an enemy that you have to get to charge you in a particular way - I’m thinking primarily of Evil Glumshanks and his armored tank.

Ninja Stealth Elf comes with the game, so it is going to be hard for anyone playing Swap Force to not already have this character. Although I can see a situation where the game and portal are bought individually and Ninja Stealth Elf is not already a part of your collection. Given that, any version of Stealth Elf can really stand in this figure’s place since they are all the same in-game.
