Carlos Mencia: Performance Enhanced - Extended and Uncensored is the newest standup act of Comedy Central's favorite racy, political humorist.

Mencia starts off his new set jumping straight into the 2008 Presidential Election. It isn't long before viewers realize which side of the fence Mencia falls on, and his discussion of the topic is amusing. Most of his comments are geared to convincing the white folks to vote for Barack Obama if for no other reason than to remove the race card. After all, if Obama is President, then we as American's must not be discriminating any more.

He flows from that to a discussion about white people stealing land from the Indians and Mexicans and still being punished for it to this day, to which he follows up with a double standard, saying that blacks can say certain N-words, but as soon as a white man says it, it's a problem.

During the Performance Enhanced stand-up, Carlos will touch on the fact that superheroes have become whiney, how South Carolina likes to re-enact a war they lost and Michael Vick's dog-fighting circuit and how this too is a double standard just because its dogs.

Mencia even talks about going to the Middle East to perform for the troops. When he and his family found out that you couldn't bring bacon into the country, his father slipped a pack of it into his suitcase, which lead to Mencia being detained for quite some time when he landed. But prison wasn't apparently that bad because, while he was jailed next to murderers and crooks, apparently smuggling bacon is even worse. Mencia commented that, instead of dropping bombs, we should be dropping bacon on them.

Mencia does a pretty good job of finding smooth segues from one topic to the next, so while each point is tied to the previous, you find yourself hearing a ton of different topics. And his act culminates into a claim that vegetarians are the ones responsible for global warming (because they are eating all the plants that are supposed to make oxygen).

Truth-be-told, while amusing, I never really found myself laughing a whole lot during Mencia's act. There are a few interesting points and amusing anecdotes thrown out there, but I never really laughed like I would with other big-named comedians. And quite frankly, Mencia's silly little jumping and prancing about on the stage annoys me more times than not. But then again that's his style. He is definitely one of those comedians that you either really enjoy or feel completely indifferent about. If you like him, then Carlos Mencia: Performance Enhanced - Extended and Uncensored is worth checking out, but those who fall a bit more on the weary side should stay away.
