So you might have just read my review of So You Think You Can Dance Get Fit: Cardio Funk. Well if you did, this one is still going to be different since it is a different video. There are some similarities, but they didn't skimp on production and filmed everything new (except Nigel's interview).

So You Think You Can Dance Get Fit: Tone and Groove does feature the same dancers: Courtney Galiano, Travis Wall, Lauren Gottlieb, Twitch, Katee Shean, and Dmitry Chaplin. This time, though, you get to do Hip-Hop with Twitch, Jazz with Katee, and the Cha-Cha with Dmitry, with the rest as backup dancers. Once again, I really do like getting the benefit of seeing all six dancers. They all have a slightly different way of doing things, so it makes me feel that even if I don't look exactly like what one person is doing, it doesn't mean it's horrible. This isn't a normal exercise video in that you're allowed to free-style some and just enjoy what you're doing.

The DVD has several parts: Introduction, Warm-Up, Workouts, Cool Down, and Bonus Interviews. Once again, you can choose to play them all, but that's probably not the easiest way to start. These dances aren't easy. They do start you off slow and speed it up a bit at a time so that you can get the hang of it, but I wouldn't count on being able to go through them all at once when you first start! Considering most exercise videos are no more than half this length, you're doing a lot of work here. The Warm-Up is different from the one on the other disc. It's still mostly the same moves, but it's really nice to get to see them done differently.

The first dance/exercise on here is a Hip-Hop with Twitch. Now if you're not a fan of the show, you might have no clue who Twitch is, but I'll go ahead and tell you that he's hilarious. His personality and quirky moves quickly made him a favorite on the show. His glasses with no lenses are just one example of his sometimes odd habits. Twitch is a really fun dancer to follow. He's created a hip-hop routine that is easy enough for everyone to do and is still quite different from Lauren's on the other DVD. I really had fun with it.

The next dance is Katee's Jazz. Personally, this is my favorite one out of all the routines. It was just the most fun to do and yet my muscles ached more from it than any of them. She really did a great job of adding in moves that were easy and yet a great workout! She's also a fun person to keep you going. For all you guys who think you might look girly, she has different moves for guys and girls, just to avoid you feeling too feminine. You do move around the room a lot more in hers than the others, so make sure that you have enough room around you to move!

The final dance on the DVD is Cha-Cha with Dmitry. Get ready to work your abs out a lot on this one! If you watch the bonus features, you'll find out that he added more twists than you would normally find in the cha-cha to make sure that it was a great exercise. Well, he really added some twists! This one was a bit difficult for me to get used to at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. After his is over, you'll get the Cool Down that I highly recommend going through. You're probably going to be sore the next day anyway for a while, but the cool down workout will help with that.

The DVD also has bonus interviews with Nigel Lithgow, Katee, Twitch, and Dmitry. They're quite fun to watch because they're just such interesting characters. Plus you get to see what is going on behind the camera when they were filming this. If you're a fan of the show, I do recommend you go pick up So You Think You Can Dance Get Fit: Tone and Groove today!
