While it began as a spin-off of Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice has quickly made a name for itself as its own show that can stand alone without Grey's. Private Practice: The Complete Second Season is a full 22 episodes.

Season One didn't end on any really big cliffhangers, other than the fact that Cooper (Paul Adelstein) starts dating Charlotte King (KaDee Strickland). Given their personalities, that's a really explosive match. Addison (Kate Walsh) is trying to debate what she should do with her love life.

Private Practice: The Complete Second Season starts off pretty much where Season One ended. Cooper and Charlotte are still "seeing" each other, but they're determined to keep it hidden from everyone. Of course, Violet (Amy Brenneman) is going to know something's going on with Cooper, so it's going to be a challenge to see how long he can keep the relationship going and quiet at the same time. Once Violet starts dating again though, she's going to be quite busy with her own life. Violet's life is going to change drastically this season!

Addison and Naomi (Audra McDonald) are in conflict with each other throughout most of the season. They're still best friends, but life has a way of putting best friends on opposite sides of many different issues. These two women are really going to have their friendship tested throughout the season. Their major problem to start off with, the practice is broke! There's nothing like money to cause problems. To make up for the loss of funds, Naomi has to make a decision that she really doesn't want to make, and it's going to affect the practice for years to come.

Naomi and Sam (Taye Diggs) have to decide if they really want to be divorced or not. It's not an easy choice on either of them. Dell (Chris Lowell) has a lot of family problems with his ex and his daughter. If he's not careful, he's going to self-destruct. There's only so much that the practice members can do to keep him going. He's got to make the decision to deal with his life. Cooper might not be dating women from online anymore since he's got Charlotte, but will his past catch up with him? Addison finds a new relationship, with a cop, Officer Kevin Nelson (David Sutcliffe). They really do come from two different worlds, though. It's going to be a difficult learning experience for both of them to try and make their relationship work, especially once Addison's brother Archer (Grant Show) comes to visit. Archer ends up staying for a bit. He's a real pain in the rear!

Pete (Tim Daly) is also going to have a lot of choices to make this season. When an old flame, Meg (Jayne Brook), comes back into the picture, Pete has to decide if his life is really how he wants it to be anymore. By the end of the season, Pete's life is really going to be changed!

As you can tell, there's a whole lot going on in their practice this year. I think they were competing with Grey's Anatomy to see who could leave the season on the biggest cliffhanger. Honestly, I don't know which one I'm more dying to find out what happens on! Luckily, we don't have too long to wait. With all the wonderful episodes, you still get even more features on the DVD. There are extended episodes, deleted scenes, bloopers, and much more. So you should definitely go pick up Private Practice: The Complete Second Season today! You've got plenty of time to watch it all before the season premiere on October 1st.
