  • Inside Blood +: Interviews with Cast and Crew

Finally, I have Blood +: Part Two! I've been waiting very impatiently for it to be released after seeing how wonderful Blood +: Part One was. If you haven't seen Part One, you should definitely start there before watching Part Two. So we found out in Part One that Diva is Saya's twin sister, and Diva's chevaliers live to serve Diva, just as Saya's chevalier Hagi lives only to serve Saya. At the end of Part One, Saya has to save Riku by transforming him into her chevalier, but should she really have done that? She knows she couldn't let him die, but now he's stuck in a life that she never wanted for him! Kai is acting like he's denying it all happened at first. He really doesn't want to accept that Riku is a chevalier, especially when Riku acts so much like he did before he was transformed. Riku doesn't have any time to learn what's going on before the Schiff show up to kill Saya, though. The Schiff are going to be a bigger part of the story now.

We find out from Irene, the blond Schiff, that they were created by humans at Kilbed. Their story is really quite sad. But we also find out why the Schiff want to kill Diva and Saya. The Schiff actually become good allies, at least as long as they live. The "thorn" that plagues them is a pretty quick killer sometimes!

Mao, Kai's psycho stalker "girlfriend," finally catches up with them and finds Kai. Shockingly though, she's a lot calmer after searching the world over for him. Eventually, I really like her. She provides something for Saya that none of the guys can, a female friend to gossip with, at least as much as Saya gossips now. She's a very different person from who she was at the beginning of the series! Somewhere along the way, the loss of another family member really puts Saya on edge. She and Hagi disappear for a year and things are really different after that. Red Shield is gone, and what's left of the forces are trying to put things back together. Things just really don't seem to be going well for the good guys!

Finally, we get the full story of Saya and Diva, and find out where they really came from. There are some things that we never really understand, though. Nathan, for some reason, seems to have a lot more knowledge of what is going on, more than anyone else. I've got a lot of speculation as to who he really is! Even Amshel stays out of Nathan's way. Solomon is really going to shock them all, however!

I love that Hagi is always there, no matter who needs help! He's like the eternal protector of the innocent (and the not-so-innocent). Especially after the group ends up in New York, Hagi becomes even more important. Saya's strength is draining and she's going to have to learn how to depend on others for the first time ever.

As I said in the Part One review, Blood +: Part Two still has everything you could want in a show. If you like anime, you really need to check out Blood + today! It's probably my favorite anime so far!
