When in Rome is an adorable romantic comedy about what happens when a girl who is unlucky in love finds luck in the strangest of places... and her life runs amok because of it! I must admit that prior to seeing this movie, I was not a fan of Kristen Bell at all. In fact, I was an anti-fan and was happy when she finally died on Heroes. That's just awful, isn't it? But its how I felt. My opinion of her has absolutely changed and she was precious in this movie.

Bell stars as Beth, a successful art curator in New York, but one unsuccessful in love, mainly because of her career-focused attitude. But who could blame her? She is an up-and-coming curator at the Guggenheim Art Museum and her boss, Celeste (Anjelica Huston) stays on her one yard line about being the best. In the midst of planning a huge exhibit, Beth's little sister announces she is getting married and in Rome, no less. Needless to say, a whirlwind trip to Rome is the last kink she needs in her schedule, but she can't disappoint her baby sister, so off she goes.

While there, she meets Nick (Josh Duhamel), the handsome best man of her sister's new husband, and she is charmed by him, only to become just as quickly disillusioned. After a drunken evening frolicking in the Fountain of Love, she decides to "rescue" a few lovesick saps and takes their coins from the fountain, with disastrous results. Having taken the coins, Beth has insured that these 4 men will fall head over heels in love with her and seek her out back in New York.

Now that might sound nice, but try having sausage king Al (Danny Devito), starving artist Antonio (Will Arnett), male model wannabe Gale - like the force of nature, you see (Dax Shepard), and street magician Lance (Jon Heder), all vying for your attention. Then there's Nick, who is smitten with Beth. But is his infatuation real or is the spell of the Fountain of Love at work here?

This movie was really funny and a great romantic comedy. Not only does Kristen Bell excel at physical comedy, but her troupe of suitors are totally hysterical. Whether it's painting a nude mural of her on the streets of New York, or jogging with her in a matching outfit, or even faking a heart attack to get close to her, these guys really bring it in the comedy department. Everyone is great in their roles and really fun to watch.

In the special features department, there's not a lot but what is there is great. There are alternate opening and closing sequences, deleted scenes, a couple of music videos, cast and on-the-set antics, extended scenes with the suitors, bloopers and a generic unnamed special feature where the cast chats about the film. Since this film is on Blu-ray, the picture and sound are quite crisp. While it isn't the type of movie that begs to be seen in high-def, the scenes of Italy and New York were quite lovely and you get some Blu-ray exclusive special features that aren't found on the DVD, so if you can, go Blu-ray.

I can't recommend this movie more highly. It is a must-see for fans of romantic comedy or physical comedy. Great stuff!
