Private Practice: The Complete Second Season left Violet (Amy Brenneman) in severe danger, with us not knowing if she was going to live or die. Her psychotic patient, Katie (Amanda Foreman), stole Violet's baby right out of her belly with Violet having to walk her through how to do it so that she didn't hurt the baby too badly. Private Practice: The Complete Third Season starts off right there. Violet is alive, but barely! Pete (Tim Daly) finds her lying bleeding on the floor. He and Naomi (Audra McDonald) had stopped by to check on her. At least doctors are, by far, the best people to find you when you're nearly dead. Violet's going to have to fight for her life and it's going to take the entire team to put her back together. Violet's character is really going to be tested this season. Amy Brennenman gets to show a very wide range of acting skills and she does an excellent job! After Katie's trial, Violet can't handle being there, so she just leaves and gives the baby to Pete. Sheldon (Brian Benben) demands a paternity test since no one really knows which one is the baby's father.

Season Three sees a lot of changes with Naomi taking Charotte's (KaDee Strickland) job at the clinic upstairs and Charlotte joining Oceanside Wellness specializing in sex therapy. At first, Cooper (Paul Adelstein) is quite upset with Charlotte's choice of specialty, but he gets over it. I still love Cooper and Charlotte as a couple, but of course their relationship is going to be very strained this season. I do hope they end up making it work for the long haul though!

Addison (Kate Walsh) has her usual issues this season. She's got to cope with being alone, and tries to still be happy. She and Sam (Taye Diggs) look into dating, but there's always going to be the issue that Naomi is Sam's ex-wife and Addison's best friend. Sam and Addison really just have trouble whenever they're together. They can't even go hiking without running into a lot of trouble! Naomi and Pete end up turning to each other for comfort when Violet checks out. We're all wondering how long and if that will last. Relationships based on rebounds just never really work.

Remember the case where Cooper treated a kidnapped kid? Well, that's going to come back to haunt Cooper. He's still one that is going to stand up for what he believes is right, no matter what the consequences to himself. Maya (Geffri Maya Hightower) is really going to try her parents' patience this season! Naomi and Sam really don't agree on how to handle the issue, but hopefully they'll get through. The season finale is nerve-wracking and heart-wrenching. One of the cast members dies, and it wasn't who I expected to lose! I'm really interested to see how the next season shapes up without them.

The DVD also includes some bonus features just to add to the experience. There are bloopers, deleted scenes, and a feature with Kate Walsh. Private Practice has been a great show so far and this season just continues the tradition. I highly recommend that you go pick it up today!
