The Super Hero Squad Show: Quest for the Infinity Sword! Volume 4 wraps up the show's inaugural season, as well as the focus on the Infinity Sword Fractals.

The collection starts off with Magneto coming to Super Hero City along with his kids, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. It seems he has been summoned by Dr. Doom to break into S.H.I.E.L.D. and steal the Fractal pieces that the heroes have managed to collect. Not realizing who the Scarlet Witch is, Falcon takes a liking to her and Magneto's kids gain access to the vault. The question is, will the two younger mutants follow in their dad's footsteps or decide to become heroes.

In the second episode, "The Ice Melt Cometh!," Doom assembles a team to build machines that will cause the Earth to spin really fast in order to cause Super Hero City, and thus the Fractal, to fly into space where Doom will be able to collect them. When the heroes stop the plan, the machine's self destruct mechanism causes some problems at the polar ice caps. In order to fix it, Iron Man has to convince Ice Man to intervene.

Next, Captain America's old foe, Red Skull, gets thawed out in order to help Dr. Doom's team come up with some new plans. While Red Skull has been Doom's hero all his life, he finds the older villain is not quite what he expected. This is followed by a rather funny and unusual episode where Dr. Doom takes over another dimension and frees his mother from the place. The realm's normal ruler, Chthon, asks the heroes for help, and they have to team up with Dr. Strange in order to keep Chthon in check and travel to the other realm.

This all lead's up to the season, and discs', final two episodes where Silver Surfer reveals that he is the herald to Galactus, the World Eater, and while he has been hiding from the massive character for many years, Galactus is coming. Of course, Dr. Doom sees the coming monster as a source of Cosmic Power. The question is, even if Dr. Doom and the heroes team up and reassemble the Infinity Sword, will it be enough to stop Galactus?

There is also an interview with the voice of Dr. Doom, Charlie Adler, on The Super Hero Squad Show: Quest for the Infinity Sword! Volume 4. While short, it is pretty amusing and is a bit of fun for the show's fans.

As a conclusion to the show's first season, the last few episodes of The Super Hero Squad Show really do the trick. Sure, the show is uber-kid friendly and the jokes are right on the same level as their intended audience, but there are a few comments put in for the parents as well. Both the show in general, and this DVD, are worth watching for any young Marvel fan out there.
