So when newcomer Jamie (Brendan Fraser) joins the sales force, he is positioned under Riker as a student. It turns out Jamie is not a complete novice, but apparently being the number one salesman at a small business in Ohio doesn't help a lot in the big city. With the constant strain of trying to get just one sale, and his relationship with his fiancee, Belisa (Amber Valletta), going down the tubes, the pressure just gets to be too much for him.
Why is Jamie's relationship seeing some strain? Well, through a strange twist of fate, Ted and Belisa start to have an affair, and it is not just Jamie's life that gets turned upside-down because of it. Ted's new relationship leaves him distracted and not meeting the quota both he and the company need.
The movie becomes an odd series of plots that pull Ted in multiple directions as he feels guilty about cuckolding his new co-worker and wanting to spend as much time with the leading lady as possible. In the end... well, I won't reveal the twist, but Psibabe, Geck0 and I had it figured out rather quickly, but it was still nice to see how it all played out.
With such a strong cast, The Last Time isn't a bad movie at all, it just never really pulled me in. I think this film is worth a rental at least, but I can't necessarily say it's worth a purchase.
