Amanda has gone into hiding with Ari Tasarov (Peter Outerbridge) and is still hell bent on destroying Nikita, but things at Division are going pretty well, at least until a mole working for Amanda is discovered in their midst. Michael, Nikita, Ryan, Alex (Lyndsey Fonseca), Sean (Dillon Casey), former Division Cleaner/Guardian Owen (Devon Sawa), recently sprung from a Russian prison and resident hacker bad-ass Seymour Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) will work tirelessly to uncover the mole, only to discover that there may be more hiding under the surface than they ever imagined.
Nikita and company will find themselves making some rather unlikely alliances this season, including Cyrus (Isaiah Mustafa), a former Division agent turned arms dealer, Ari Tasarov, and even someone within the President's inner circle. They will also deal with some tremendous personal losses, including debilitating injuries and even death among their tight circle. What's more, this season is rife with betrayal, both among the close-knit group and throughout Division in general. Some pretty shocking stuff goes down. One of my favorite episodes is one where we get to see Amanda's back story – what made her the woman she is today. Keep in mind, she is one terrible lady. It's great, though.
But there's also some lovely romance in the air around Division. First off, Michael finally proposes to Nikita, and Seymour and Sonia (Lyndie Greenwood) continue to kindle their little romance, even though some serious kinks are thrown in the works of both relationships. Alex and Sean drift apart and come back together during the season, but this couple just can't seem to catch a break. When Michael and Nikita finally seem to work everything out, a nefarious group known as "The Shop" makes contact. These are the guys who supplied Division with all of its high tech gadgetry and they may be the answer to a big problem for Michael, but nothing ever comes free. The season finale will leave the viewers wondering what lies in store for the small group of good folks from Division following a devastating murder that Nikita is publicly framed as having committed.
While there are only a handful of special features, what's there is good. There are Unaired Scenes for a number of the episodes, as well as a Gag Reel, but I do wish you could watch all of the Unaired Scenes back to back instead of swapping discs. What I can tell you is that watching Nikita on Blu-ray is like night and day when you compare standard definition to the high def gorgeousness of Blu-ray. Not only does every scene pop with color and intensity, but the sound is outstanding as well. For an action-packed show like Nikita, where explosions and bone-cracking fight scenes are commonplace, watching on Blu-ray is a must.
Who knows what the future holds for the inner circle of what was once Division, but viewers will find out when Nikita: Season Four kicks back into high gear towards the end of November.
