Time Life just keeps the laughter coming with the hilarious comedy sequences of The Carol Burnett Show: The Best of Tim Conway. Tim Conway was a recurring guest on The Carol Burnett Show and became a regular in 1975. This presentation features four episodes of the popular variety show, exhibiting some of Conway's most acclaimed appearances.

In The Carol Burnett Show: The Best of Tim Conway, you'll find the brilliant characterizations of the "Oldest Man" in a slow motion sequence; the irascible Mr. Tudball with his dim-witted secretary, Mrs. Wiggins (Burnett); and his acclaimed sketch as "The (inexperienced) Dentist." The DVD also features some of The Carol Burnett Show's "Introduction" and "Goodnights." Her signature openings begin with her famous charwoman animation and continue with Carol donning some of fashion designer Bob Mackie's magnificent wardrobe selections. And, in one of her Q&A's, a young viewer even requests a meeting and a kiss of the famous designer.

The Carol Burnett Show: The Best of Tim Conway has only one feature, "Bonus Blooper: Dog's Life" where actors Pat Carroll, Lyle Waggoner, and Carol Burnett break-up when Tim gets an unusual reaction from a misguided injection. This particular skit just absolutely kept me in stitches and I'm sure you'll feel the same way. Carol will appear in the familiar "Carol and Sis" sequences and "George and Zelda." Guest stars featured on this DVD are Pat Carroll, Cass Elliot, Steve Lawrence, Martha Raye, and Karen Wyman. Of course, you'll see the Burnett Show regulars, Carol herself, Harvey Korman, Vickie Lawrence, and hunky Lyle Waggoner. If, in some sketches you can't see the face of the person who is in hysterics during Conway's act – well that will be Harvey Korman, who played alongside the unique comedian and simply couldn't keep his composure. As in most of the nostalgic DVDs, there are some faulty images or sound, but in my opinion, the comedy content outweighs any flaws.

The Carol Burnett Show: The Best of Tim Conway presentation consists of four episodes from The Carol Burnett Show including Episode 312, Episode 423, Episode 513, and Episode 0120. Some of my favorite skit on this DVD are "The Dentist" when Conway appears as an inexperienced dentist trying to pull a tooth of his first human patient (Harvey Korman). "Dog's Life" was my absolute favorite, and every time I watched it, I found it ridiculously funny. The Benson family vet (Lyle Waggoner) comes to administer aid to the couple's dog and accidentally injects Mr. Benson (Conway) with the syringe. Mr. Benson unfortunately exhibits unusual side effects during an important visit from his boss (Harvey Korman) and wife (Pat Carroll). "The Virgin Prince" portrayed by Conway as Harold of Dorton, a prospective suitor for the Princess Cecily (Carol Burnett), who is considering suitors for marriage. She admits to him that a legendary plague has been placed upon her family for the past 500 years that causes her to unexpectedly fall asleep. This "Virgin Prince" admits that he, too, has a malady of unexpectedly turning into a frog. She considers their compatibility and proclaims that they will be wed. In the segments "Salute to 20th Century Fox," there are parodies on "The Fly," "Doctor Dolittle," and "The Adventures of Charlie Chan."

Martha Raye and Carol appear in "Mothers in the Park" where Carol is a classy Mom with baby trying to improve her parenting skills by reading Dr. Spock, and Raye plays an undesirable Mom with a baby in a grocery cart trying to converse on the same level with the unsettled Mom who wants nothing more than to exit. There's a bookstore sketch starring Cass Elliot and Carol taking a long peek at a dirty book, but not wanting anyone to notice. Unfortunately for the two, public attention cannot be avoided when they are selected as winning customers. Flying to their vacation destination, Steve Lawrence and Carol are a panicking couple who expose sinful confessions when the plane's engine is troubled and they are facing death.

The Carol Burnett Show: The Best of Tim Conway is a wonderful weekend of family entertainment. Tim Conway is extremely funny and nostalgic with episodes from The Carol Burnett Show. You'll see all the regulars that you loved and laugh just as hard, if not harder, than when you first saw these sequences on The Carol Burnett Show. I was so pleased to have the opportunity to review The Carol Burnett Show: The Best of Tim Conway, because I want The Carol Burnett Show to remain a staple of classic comedy never to be forgotten, and with all the regulars having their own DVDs, it will!
