GunGrave Vol. 1: Beyond the Grave starts off the epic story of a street hoodlum who has been brought back to life with the sole purpose of stopping a huge, under-world gang called the Millennion Organization.

This volume starts off with Beyond the Grave (yes that is his name) being resurrected and fitted with his twin handguns (aptly named Cerberus), and his coffin of high-powered weaponry. Grave is charged with protecting a girl and her uncle who seem to have a connection to the life he led before his death. Grave starts off his second life firing bullets at storage mutated, undead creatures, under the control of a vile drug called Seed. And that is just the first episode.

The last three shows on GunGrave Vol. 1 take you into Beyond?s past. Here you find out what the events were that lead a young Brandon Heat to his early demise.

This awesome series is the combined effort of Yasuhiro Nightow (best known for Trigun) and Madhouse (Animatrix, Tokyo Godfathers, Trigun and Texhnolyze).

This four-episode volume does a great job of kicking off a series that should belong on any anime-watcher?s shelf. If you haven?t already picked up this DVD, then go out and get it now.
